Nourishing People and Planet in Recognition of Earth Month
There is enough food in the world, but nearly 2.3 billion people face hunger. Tragically, one-third of all food is lost or wasted, producing up to 10 percent of emissions that are responsible for the climate crisis. Food insecurity. Food loss and waste. Climate change. All the results of a flawed food system. Food banks are part of the solution to break this cycle.
On April 25, join The Global FoodBanking Network’s (GFN) CEO, Lisa Moon, for a special Earth Month webinar on how GFN and the food banks we support are nourishing both people and the planet. Lisa will share updates on our work related to climate change mitigation and resilience.
Lisa will cover strategic updates and goals around GFN’s disaster response efforts, our new Agriculture Recovery Hub, and our use of innovative technology—from virtual food banking to methane measurement. The session will include audience Q&A and will highlight ways to engage with GFN through the rest of 2024.
