FAO, Latin America and the Caribbean

Ricardo Rapallo coordinates the program, “Transformation of food systems and healthy eating for all people”, which is one of the three FAO program areas in the Latin American and Caribbean region. He has experience in 28 countries in the region, advising governments on policy in the areas of food security, rural development and sustainable management of natural resources. He has participated in various dialogues and strategic partnerships with the institutions and organizations of the member countries, the United Nations system, multilateral banks and other international organizations in the region.

Ricardo also coordinates and participates in the preparation of documents, guides and manuals including recommendations on the design, implementation and evaluation of programs and projects. He participates in high-level meetings and gatherings with policy makers, parliamentarians and representatives of organizations and institutions working in the area of FAO’s mandate.
