Food Bank Innovations During COVID-19

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, members of The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) answered the call by serving 40 million people in 2020, a 132 percent increase over service in 2019.

GFN’s programming provided crucial support in helping food banks around the world rapidly expand their work to meet the increased need. To learn how, join us virtually on November 10. GFN’s experts will walk you through how food banks used GFN support in innovative ways during the most challenging public health emergency of our time.

For example, when COVID-19 transmission peaked in India and hospitals were overwhelmed, all three GFN food bank partners in India initiated campaigns to provide meals and oxygen concentrators to hospitals and directly to patients at home. Food Banking Kenya was able to kick off the largest agricultural rescue program now operating in GFN’s Africa Incubator Program. You’ll hear about stories like this and more!

Your support makes this possible and we want to thank you by sharing the inspiring stories of food banking. We hope you will join us on November 10th.
