Ana Isabel Méndez is the General Manager of Banco de Alimentos Panama, GFN’s member food bank in Panama. Méndez graduated with a master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.
Méndez has more than 20 years of experience in the Panamanian banking sector, working with local and international institutions. In 2015, she took on her role as General Manager of Banco de Alimentos Panama. In her role, Méndez is responsible for leading the food banks’ initiatives, by ensuring that all administrative, financial, and operational matters are working in accordance with the organizational objectives.
As part of her vision and commitment to enhancing the efficiency of the food bank, new processes and technologies have been incorporated into the food banks’ operations over the last six years, as well as improved relationships with local and international organizations.
In 2019, Banco de Alimentos Panama served more than 60,000 people facing hunger in Panama through a network of more than 150 community service organizations.
