Mintel Global FoodBanking Network B2B Research Report - EN

Understanding where, how, and why food recovery opportunities exist in the supply chain is critical to a food bank’s Product Sourcing strategy.

As part of GFN’s strategy of supporting and strengthening food banks’ Product Sourcing capabilities, GFN commissioned market research firm Mintel to survey companies in Asia Pacific and Latin America on how they manage food loss and waste (FLW) in their supply chains. This comprehensive research provides detail on the nature, scale, and factors that contribute to FLW. In addition, the research details what solutions companies are using to handle FLW and identifies perceptions and barriers to food donation.

The study involved 400 detailed interviews with food industry professionals in production, handling, distribution, and retail. The countries in scope are Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Paraguay.

Join Mintel and GFN for this event to present a regional synthesis of the research, contextualizing and prioritizing the learnings most relevant to food banks. Following the webinar, we will share the detailed country findings with the respective food banks.

Separately, GFN also commissioned Mintel to collate industry, product category, brand, and contact information on manufacturers in 11 countries in the Latin America region: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. This data will also be shared with the respective food banks following this webinar.
